Firstly, we got our brief to do with cutlery, I’m liking the idea of it and it is far easier to come up with new ideas compared with the previous brief as you can let the artsy ideas flow a bit more compared to the gaming project. My 30 pages of designs are going ok, taking a while to develop them though, also, realizing that my rendering skills with pens are really lacking. And it is quite frustrating seeing the standard of my rendering being much lower than the drawings themselves.
I got feedback from my design book front cover, which was that it needs to be lighter, which I agree with. I need to think about that in future about how inviting it looks to potential readers. I’m also glad about the new brief as I think that the style of cover will also work very well with the cutlery.
We started modelling with other materials, materials that are a bit more resistant which was a nice change. However, I really didn’t like modelling with the clay as t was very easy to ruin a model simply by holding it wrong.
As seen below though we did continue with using blue foam as well, which I am finding that with every model I am getting better standards of finish.
I’m currently finding constellation to be very inconsistent, sometimes I find it interesting when he starts talking about the actual architecture or genuine topics that also apply to product design, but other than that I am finding the history of it all very boring and pretty pointless in general.
