This week,we continued the cutlery project by taking our models and putting them through the matrix evaluation process which surprised me a little with which models came out on top. Now I’m modelling the top designs in model board which, so far,is my favourite material to work with. The fact that it is harder than blue foam means it is far harder to mess up and rip holes out of it, however, it does take much longer to get finished models. I am really enjoying modelling with model board though, it will just take some time to get used to it.
I found constellation this week very interesting and useful. We spent some time talking about biomimicry and biomorphism. This is when we take inspiration from nature from aesthetics but also mechanisms of biological beings to improve our designs or come up with new designs. We were looking at places where there were crossovers and how they work.
